Buying Local

Supporting your local farmers and businesses has become the latest I decided to partake.  I decided to spend a day and really investigate my own little town and discover all of the hidden treasures.  I decided to start the day off with breakfast at the Jukebox Cafe, a little 50's styled cafe that serves breakfast and lunch.  After breakfast I headed over to Frecon Farms where they sell just about everything.  Wine, chocolates, plants, flowers, honey, tea, fruits, veggies, baked goods, breads, beer, eggs, meat and so much more.  And it is all grown, harvested or created right in my area!

I did a little shopping and picked up a few things.  Here are some pictures of my findings!!

Two yummy The Republic of Tea teas and a beeswax chapstick!

Local Wildflower Honey!

Yummy Chocolates!

It is a Strawberry Melomel Wine!  Made with Honey!

A Red Wine Mix!

  1. i always try to buy from the smaller local shops rather than chains, and it's almost against my religion to go in a Costa haha

  2. I love the idea of buying local! It's hard around here though...we have some small restaurants and coffee shops, but for food and stuff like that you pretty much have no choice but to go to a huge chain type of store! I'm always on the lookout though!

  3. I am a HUGE fan of supporting local vendors. A little while ago I specifically searched for etsy stores in my city. I love supporting home-made too!

  4. This is such a wonderful idea. Looks like you got some awesome stuff. I try to buy local as much as I can but it's hard in my city. I do buy on Etsy all the time!

  5. I am definitely a fan of buying local goods. This is why I want to go to the Farmers market on wednesday in the city because it would be great to support the locals. Also adore handmade goods.
